Heart - is there one that exists that is not broken? Maybe in the body of a child but the reality is that, a broken heart is probably just as likely as death. Something that in our world, is the only guarentee of life.

This particluar image shows an Knowsey pulling on the final stitch of a broken heart. An abstract interpretation of how we must fix ourselves in life. The heart, althrough scarred, covered in patches and split open, shows that inside, what we possess is “Golden” as if to bring to life the meaning of the saying, “a heart of gold”.
Ben says: After the realisation of needing to heal, we must go on and begin to fix the problems, like facing the fears. Life doesn’t stop because we are hurt and in pain. Infact, it goes on and it reminds us every single day just how painful it is to be broken but in that pain, there lies strength and it’s only when you’re walking through the reality of pain will you understand the ways in which to fix yourself.
I wanted to really bring to life the depth of my emotion with this piece and give the viewers an insight into how I see my own heart.
